Ren Zeping's "Zeping Macro" WeChat account suddenly blocked from new followers, 2980-yuan membership course still on sale — BigGo Finance
On October 24, the WeChat public account "Zeping Macro," run by economist Ren Zeping, displayed a notice saying it "cannot be followed due to violations," and the account could no longer be found through direct search within WeChat. Customer service described the issue as a platform technical adjustment affecting roughly 15 days. Around the same time, Ren's "economist" verification was removed on Weibo, Douyin and Toutiao. The account's operating entity, Haize Zaiwu Information Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., and the affiliated account's entity, Beijing Dushu Youyi Information Technology Co., Ltd., neither list securities investment consulting in their business scope nor appear among the 76 investment advisory institutions in the China Securities Regulatory Commission's directory. In July, the account drew attention after a VIP member reportedly lost more than 10 million yuan; the team said it had never recommended stocks. The 2,980-yuan annual membership course is still being sold, and a members-only livestream proceeded as scheduled on October 25.
